Kingdom Builders Small Groups

Kingdom Builders: Someone wiser than me coined the phrase, “no man is an island.” However trite that cliché may be, the truth is unchanging, we do our best when we are willing to be connected to others. One of the best ways a Christian can accomplish this is through being involved in a small group. The type of small group referred to here is more than your usual Sunday morning Sunday School class. This is a place where people can dig deeper into both God’s Word and your own life application of that Word. This is a place were one can be more real and participate in a level of sharing that touches the deepest part of you. Some of these type groups are already meeting here at West Hampton. Check out the list below, then come and join the adventure:

"Having A Real Relationship with God”

Wednesdays: January 21 - February 25 @ 7:00 PM
Wednesday Women’s Group, Shelia Owens, Facilitator

This begins a new type of study for this group. These are “Precept” based Bible studies where the participants and leader do verse by verse review and interpretations simultaneously. There is NO HOMEWORK required! This type of study is particularly helpful for people who want more in-depth study but have limited time available for such an experience.
The first book in this new series is an excellent beginning point. If you’ve ever wondered if it is even possible to have a meaningful and authentic relationship with God in the midst of all that life is throwing at you every day – this study may be the answer.
The study guide for this class is $3.00.

"Crown Financial Bible Study"

Wednesday's: January 14 - April 1 @ 6:00 PM (this is 1 1/2 hour class)
Special Focus Group, Steve & Lori Zeiber, Facilitators

Most people are well trained in what God says about 10% of their money. But do the know what God says about the other 90% of the money, their possessions and their time? The Bible gives us extensive instructions on how to be wise stewards in areas such as debt, spending, saving/investing, budgeting, earning, and training children. This is a 10 week in-depth Biblical financial Study where participants will study and apply these practical truths.
You will have homework you enjoy, consisting of daily devotion, financial homework, and scripture memory. In class you will work on the biblical lessons pertaining to money, and at home participants will work on their own personal finances. People have taken these classes find marriages are being strengthened and individuals are finding the way out of debt. They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers. Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word.

Cost for materials is $35.00 for couples, $25 for singles. NOTE: This class meets 1 ½ hrs each week.

"Share Jesus Without Fear"

Sundays, January 11 - February 15 @ 6:00 PM
Special Focus Group: Danny Owens, Facilitator

Would you really like to be able to share your faith with another person, but you’re afraid to do so. You might be fearful of being embarrassed, not knowing enough, offending someone, or being rejected. Would it make a difference if you knew that you could overcome these obstacles?
SJWF gives you a natural method to share the gospel. No tracks to carry, no complicated formula to memorize. The study will show you how a few simple questions in the course of everyday conversation could help you lead a lost person to Jesus. You’ll also learn specific Bible verses that will strengthen your personal witness.

Cost for material is $4.00.

"Feast"

Sunday's, January 11 - February 15 @ 6:00 PM
Small Group Study: David Robinson & Rabbi Stan Glasofer, Facilitator

As a Christian, do you know where you came from? Is there a story that you can tell your children so that they will understand the heritage of their faith? As Christians, we have tended toward forgetting the celebrations that define who we are as a people of faith. Other than an occasional observance of the Lord’s Supper or a devotional at Advent, we seldom celebrate the elements of faith. We have stopped telling our stories.
Feast is a study where we re-evaluate the importance of tradition in our faith. This is a study where we will not only look at 6 Hebrew festivals, we will experience these festivals! Rabbi Stan Glasofer will be leading us in authentic celebrations of Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Hanukkah. We will also enter into study and dialogue about the Christian application of each of these festivals.

Cost for material is $10.00

"Intimate Marriage"

Sunday's February 22 – March 29 @ 6:00 PM
David Robinson, Facilitator

Lack of effective communication skills is one of the major reasons that couples experience marital difficulties. Words are weapons of the spirit; they have immense power to bless or harm, to build up or tear down. In marriage as in other relationships, "gentle words are a tree of life" (Proverbs 14:4). The principles in this study mine the wisdom of Proverbs to help you and your spouse develop healthy communication patterns, listen with care and give life to each other through your words.
The leader brings his skills as a marriage & family therapist and 30+ years of marriage to provide an experience where couples will have opportunity to implement what they learn in non-threatening exercises and fun activities. You can learn skills that will strengthen your relationship for years to come.

Cost for material in this class is $5.-Discount expires Feb. 12

“Study & Meditation”

Sunday's February 22 – March 29 @ 6:00 PM
Elaine Jones, Facilitator

Reading the Bible is one of the most important disciplines we can engage in. Why is Bible study so significant? How can our attitude and approach affect what we get out of our reading? What does it mean to "meditate" on Scripture? How can meditating on God's Word change us? The way we approach the Bible affects our interaction with God. Learning to immerse ourselves in God's thoughts through study and meditating allows us to go deeper into God's Word and live in a more Christ-like way.
Learning to live out the Christ-like way can change us and the people in our lives.
Cost for material in this class is $3 - Discount expires Feb. 12
