The Educational Ministry at West Hampton seeks to incorporate each of the five essential
functions of Kingdom growth; evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship. This ministry
finds its base in the Bible, which serves as its textbook and finds its purpose in developing a
Christ-likeness in all participants. Volunteers serve as ministry leaders in the specific areas of Kingdom growth.
There are two primary divisions in our Educational Ministry: Sunday School and Kingdom Builders. In each division, believers and seekers can find small group Bible studies, that will provide opportunities to develop their personal discipleship gifts while connecting with the larger mission and ministry of the church.
Our Sunday morning Bible study is divided into four age groups:
Preschoolers learn by doing and seeing others in action! Our preschool leaders help lead these children to learn valuable life lessons through
Bible stories, songs, art, home-life play, and social skills at age appropriate levels.
Children learn how to relate to other children and adults through the caring actions of the trained leadership. The goal is to help parents build emotionally, physically, and spiritually strong children.
We believe that God embraces children with love, placing their nurture and care in our hands.
Our children’s leaders take this responsibility seriously, providing Bible study and worship experiences suited for the age and maturation level of each child. Each child is led to develop a spiritual foundation that will enable him/her to understand how God and Jesus want to be a part of their lives. Parents are encouraged to share in the spiritual education of these children.
Youth have opportunities that are varied, exciting, creative, and extend beyond the traditional Sunday morning time.
They are challenged to live a personal faith and to understand the importance of having a firm grip on religious convictions.
Youth are encouraged to bring their friends, sharing in the ministry activities as one way of introducing them to Christ. Youth also have opportunity for spiritual growth and ministry action through other small group meetings on Sunday evenings and Wednesday nights.
Adults have a wide variety of choices in Bible study groups. Individuals can choose a study group based on a selection of curriculum, affinity groups, co-ed, singles, and/or age.
The learning leaders utilize a variety of teaching styles. All adults are challenged to instill life-changing principles into their day-by-day living.
These small groups are active in ministry endeavors and fellowship building outside the classrooms as well.
