About Us

Deacons Team Ministry: Our deacons provide servant-leadership to the church as a whole. They serve as worship leaders and as a team providing general spiritual guidance to the congregation. Our “gifts-based team ministry” involves the organization of many church members who are gifted and called to these ministries. Members serve alongside the deacons on one of the Deacon-led Ministry Teams. Below is a list and a brief description of each gift based team.

Gift Based Ministry Teams

Hospital Visitation team
Meet the needs by visitation and coordination with other ministry teams of WHBC members – and member referrals. Grief Ministry Team

This team helps those that have lost a loved one. The team will assist the church's Bereavement Committee when needed. The team also will contact surviving family member/members with a card or other communication on the anniversary of their loss, letting them know that we are praying for them.
Casserole Ministry Team
It is a ministry of providing food for those dealing with other issues in their lives. Will focus on persons affected by a time of crisis and/or upheaval of their normal schedule.
Small Job's Ministry Team
Maintain a list of jobs individual team members can do. Minister through small jobs that do not require city permits.
Welcome Ministry Team
Make contact with visitors as they first arrive at WHBC. Assist in directing to Sunday school welcome center and/or Service.
Homebound Ministry Team
This team visits weekly with the homebound bringing them a tape of the Sunday sermon spending some time with them and praying with them.
Transportation Ministry Team
Help with transportation of those members who need a ride to and from church events.
New Members Ministry Team
Make new members welcome, have pictures made and posted, assign a team member contact person
Visitor Outreach Team
Work closely with the Welcome Team to identify and set up a meeting with any visitors. Make a home visit with the visitor(s) if desired by the visitor.
